A Small Variety of Shorts to Inspire You

Video is a universal language that delivers the best results over any other marketing style. Whether you shoot a talking head short, an emotional heart-grabbing story, or a marketing display of your beautiful offerings, people will gravitate to video and adopt you and your product much faster than print or spoken marketing material. Consider adding video to your arsenal of gorgeous design features.

Below is a sampling of different video genres and styles that I’ve produced over the years for my clients.

Scott W Bailey (SWBGraphix) Marketing Video

Client: Scott W Bailey (me)
Year: 2005
Purpose: Marketing my design firm

I created this video in 2005 to market my company, then called SWBGraphix. Though this video is now dated, I still get a kick out of posting it to market myself. I wrote, shot, directed, and engineered the post-production output and created the soundtrack for this short piece. My goal was to sample some of my work with print, web, and video, in a fun, visually creative and hopefully catchy format.

Flying River Ranch Marketing Video

Client: Dan Oschner
Year: 2010
Purpose: Introduction to Flying River Ranch and organic grass fed beef

What a joy to meet Dan and discuss his project. Flying River Ranch was over 100,000 acres of God’s most beautiful country in Wyoming, just next to the east entrance to Yellowstone. Dan was an amazing man with a gentle humble spirit and a huge vision on how to produce some of the best organic grass fed beef. The process of how they honored the land, the water, the wildlife, including the cows in the process, was truly a remarkable endeavor and the big story. Staying at the ranch for 10 days to shoot photos and video and catch the vision of the ranch was the the icing on the cake! The entire production was done in house and I brought in Dan Gilson to do the voice over.

InViroPak Marketing Video

Client: Innovative Plastics
Year: 2009
Purpose: Introduction to the new eco friendly packaging solution

Innovative Plastics, a major suppliers of approved product packaging for big box stores like Home Depot, Walmart, etc., had come up with a revolutionary new eco friendly packaging solution that needed marketing and exposure. Jim Parrish, the president and CEO of the company invited me in to discuss options. I imagined the video shot as a walkthrough of the factory while explaining the sustainable benefits of this unique product. Working with Innovative’s creative team for copy, I created the branding and print work then wrote, directed, shot, produced and created the music bed. After integrating voice over we had a successful video ready for the launch.

Kathy’s House Testimony

Client: Kathy’s House, Jon Phillips
Year: 2023
Purpose: Testimonies of different residents in their highly successful recovery homes

I began working with Diana Spitz the founder of Kathy’s House back in 2010 creating their branding, print collateral and website. Kathy’s House originally worked only with single women and moms. What made it so appealing to me was that Kathy’s House was 100% funded by thrift store donations and sales. They never charged a resident a penny. Over the years Kathy’s House had expanded to men’s, women’s, and pregnant girls homes. Their thrift stores have multiplied and their success stories spread. Providing their year long graduates with job training and placement, they also gave a vehicle to the graduate and helped place them in level 2 homes to start a successful life. I wanted the residents to give their stories to show the great work being done and generate interest in donors partnering with Kathy’s House to help more people.

CaseFriend Marketing Video

Client: Legal Facts
Year: 2017
Purpose: Introduction to new legal software

The legal industry, particularly workers compensation defense, had become a litigating nightmare, prolonging cases forever while padding attorneys pockets. Partnering with attorneys Brent Daub and Dan Gilson, we worked on creating a digital solution to expedite cases and give the clients full transparency in the handling of their cases. I created this video to draw potential clients in for a demonstration. Again writing, directing, automating, and producing the video, sound and voice over ended up with this animated overview.

Gary Rea “Gratitude” Album Release

Client: Gary Rea
Year: 2010
Purpose: Press Kit and Album Release

An old friend and fellow musician from South Africa was releasing a new solo album. He reached out to discuss the upcoming release and I knew I wanted to be a part. We both felt interview style would be perfect recipe for a musical and visual montage. Shooting both close up interviews, artistic renderings and live music performance, I was able to show how amazing and talented Gary is, and also the awesome times the album was birthed in.

Testify the Book Launch

Client: Annie Kilroy
Year: 2011
Purpose: Pre-Release book launch tickler video

Annie approached me about an amazing book idea, which I immediately felt it needed to be a very well built, high-end glossy photo book with 22 God stories of miracles in every day people. Annie loved the idea and we got to work. With the upcoming book launch, Annie would be speaking at several venues to introduce the book and we wanted to have an intro tickler video. Something to perk up your senses. This one did the trick.

Phillips Wedding Video Video

Client: Jon and Regina Phillips
Year: 2017
Purpose: Wedding memory

Wedding videos, aaaaaaahhhh. The tears, the joy, the memories. I had to add a wedding video for the sampling. To ingest several hours of content into a brief, but emotional trigger of the heart and create lasting memories was the mission. This one came with several situations to overcome, shooting outside in the bright light and later inside in the dark. Keeping it brief but impactful was the target, and I think we hit a bullseye.

CaseFriend Intro Video

Client: Legal Facts
Year: 2017
Purpose: Tickler introduction to CaseFriend

Thought I would show you one more video demonstrating animated stick figures to create some synergy in this tickler video for legal software. Hopefully it inspires you to understand, no matter how simple a video is, it can still create a clear targeted message. Lot of fun to put this one together. Enjoy.
